About
I began wood turning as a hobby to help with my mental health and physical recovery following a difficult year and losing my job.
What began as a hobby quickly became addictive and slowly grew as people started to show an interest in my work. It’s not a full time job by any means but gives me immense satisfaction and pride to make pieces with a unique individual touch for my customers.

I only use the finest materials when creating a new piece. Whenever possible, I source Northumberland woods and occasionally blend with modern resins and metals to create unique pieces. Using these materials, I work hand in hand with the customer on custom design items. He has a fondness for garden birds so I acquired some Tibetan silver birds and set them in mica epoxy in his favourite colour, blue. RMS Olympic (Sistership to RMS Titanic)
I have been lucky enough to secure mahogany, oak and pitch pine from RMS Olympic. She was scrapped in Jarrow 1937-39 and her interior timbers were salvaged and stored. I can make you any small item but in particular both ball point and fountain pens, each supplied with a Certificate Of Authenticity, a history of RMS Olympic and the story of how the timbers were acquired.
